This week,Brant,a MTWX member submitted the following memo. It captures the frustration millions of Canadians feel watching their tax dollars disappear into government black holes. Over the next four days, I’m going to prove exactly why this anger is justified—with numbers government hopes you won’t calculate.
Memo to all Public Service Employees and Elected Officials
by Brant Hasanen, mtwx member
Going into the New Year 2026, it has come to the attention of our clients, the taxpayer, that there are a few key amendments we will be making to our employee handbook as well as the elected officials commitment to the electorate document.
Before getting into the actual amendments and additions, we need to discuss the pending issue.
WHO’S MONEY ARE WE SPENDING AND GIVING OUT ON BEHALF OF OUR CLIENT, THE TAXPAYER?
As a backgrounder for this memo, please consider the following. Every dollar coming into our government coffers is a result of some sort of tax created by our clients, working hard, in the form of an income tax, as well as them spending their remaining after tax dollars on consumables necessary for them to enjoy the life our elected officials have been promising them. Keep in mind that clearly 70% of your revenue comes in the form of Income Tax from our clients contributing to and growing the economy which keeps you all employed.
The additional 30% of your revenue comes from all other forms of taxes and revenue from Crown Corporations.
This concept applies mainly to the federal and provincial employees. Your municipal cohorts mainly depend on property tax to provide the promised services.
The purpose of this review memo is for all public service employees to review the real value they are bringing to the taxpayer for the dollars they are using. It is also intended to start the onset of the overarching, pending review on the overall efficiency of all money spent on the public service.
Our clients are of the opinion that actual government spending is at an all time high, and the value received for government spending is at a measurable, all time low. In an attempt to reconcile this potential misconception, you are all required to review and report your value for dollar measure. Today’s taxpayer is asking for some accountability of your spending efficiencies.
To the “Elected Officials”, there is a much different sentiment brewing. Namely, why are you handing out taxpayer money to so many initiatives without the consent of your clients, and what is the intended economic multiplier of your decisions. The transparency and optics related to the intent of these decisions is in question. Follow this up with the report back to our clients on the actual result of the distribution vs the intended result.
Second, please review your agreement with your constituents upon being elected that allows your latitude on making distribution decisions under the “Distribution” discussion upon your successful election.
There seems to be a misconception that you, the elected officials, have the unlimited latitude to distribute said dollars as if they were yours and under your own personal, or political benefit.
Going forward, as a result of this New Years memo, all non systemic distributions of the taxpayers dollars shall be reviewed, modified, and even cancelled to the point that the intent is understood and meets the upcoming commitment platform.
Further to this memo, a follow up accountability memo will be issued next quarter. Please ensure you adhere to the new commitment and we, your clients, the taxpayer, look forward to your continued service.
Thank you.
Wednesday: the global trust collapse that makes Canada’s accountability problem impossible to ignore.
